My mum's secret recipe.
1/2 Lemon Squeezed for Juice
4 Eggs - separate egg yolks from whites
1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Butter
tsp Baking Powder
2 Cup Flour
1 C plain greek yogurt or Cottage Cheese
Pre-heat oven to 350.
Cut up apples into slices and drizzle with lemon to keep fresh. Set aside.
Beat the egg whites till they are stiff. Set aside.
Beat sugar, butter and egg yolks. Add baking powder, salt, cardamon, cinnamon, and flour.
Stir in yogurt or cottage cheese.
Fold egg whites under batter without mixing vigourously.
Pour into greased baking dish and add apples on top in design of your choice.
Bake for 40 min. Is a moist cake but not gooey.
